About Us...

Queens Park Montessori Day Nursery currently offers 29 places, and is situated within the ground floor of a large detached property.  The nursery is located in Charminster with easy access to Bournemouth town centre.  It occupies a corner plot and has off road parking.

The nursery has been established for 30 years.  Since July 2002 it has been owned and managed by Alison Toms, who was previously the nursery supervisor for 8 years.  Alison is ably supported by a dedicated team of professionals who help to create a secure and loving environment, within which each child is treated as an individual and is helped to develop to their full potential.

All 10 staff are qualified or working towards a qualification.  On-going training of all staff is considered a priority.

On the 1st September 2012 the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework was revised.  The nursery now works towards the seven areas of learning and development, as follows:

Prime areas

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

  • Physical Development

  • Communication and Language

Specific areas

Detailed observations are made on each child, taking into account the Characteristics of Effective Learning and the 4 EYFS Principles:
